Thank you to our generous Orange Grove families! Last Friday, April 28, over 60 dedicated students and 16 parents turned out to make sandwiches for Casa Maria Free Kitchen. With the food donated by our families, the students were able to make 874 sandwiches and pair them with the donated non-perishable items. It was a joy to see our students working together enthusiastically to help those in need. The student and parent turnout, along with the number of donations, has increased every year to the point where we will need more stations, supplies and bread to run more efficiently. What a great problem to have!
Casa Maria is Tucson's largest soup kitchen and has been operating since 1981. It is open every day of the year (with the exception of Christmas and Thanksgiving) from From a small downtown house run by volunteers, they serve hundreds of hungry men, women and children each day.
